State Meeting Germany

Invitation to the German State Meeting 2014 from
May 29th– June 1st in Rastatt, Baden-Württemberg

Dear members, dear guests,

Gamma Chapter cordially invites you to the beautiful baroque city of Rastatt near Baden – Baden ( South – West Germany) to attend the state meeting. Rastatt is very easily accessible as Karlsruhe airport is close by and it is served by ryan air. From Frankfurt Airport it is only a 90min train ride.

Rastatt is quite well known in Germany for its Baroque Castle, built by the so-called “Türkenlouis” the Baden duke who defended the Turkish outside Vienna. In the castle there is a very interesting exposition of all the freedom movements in German history, which was established in 1974 at the suggestion of the then Federal President Gustav W. Heinemann. Apart from this, there are fine art museums and do not forget the good restaurants and pubs that create dishes of the well-known Baden cuisine, and, last but not least, serve the delicious Baden wines.
But Rastatt will also have something very special to offer at this particular weekend, namely the largest international street theater festival in Germany called tête – à –tête.

Note: This year's State Conference is dedicated entirely (except for the elections, of course) to the preparation of the European Regional Conference and is held at the conference venue in order to acquaint all our members with their 'workplace', therefore we don't have an 'international' programme this time.

Delta Kappa Gamma Deutschland

Germany State, Alpha Chapter Berlin and Beta Chapter Frankfurt were installed in Frankfurt on March 21, 1992.

The installation of Gamma Chapter Freiburg / Baden-Baden took place in 1995, that of Delta Chapter Rastede / Northern Germany, our youngest in every sense, who meets regularly with the closest Dutch chapter followed in 2004. We have actually just over 40 members but hope to initiate several more soon.
The State meetings are our yearly highlights. They are hosted alternately by the four chapters. Our 2010 State Meeting took place in Freudenstadt (see July Newsletter p.2).
